One could literally fill pages and write an epic on the virtually infinite number of accolades and awards the students and alumni have brought to this department over its recent years.
The department boasts the set of most brilliant students in the entire university. Graduates from this department have been regularly receiving various prestigious awards.
Since its transformation into a fully-fledged engineering department in December 2014, the department has then experienced a dramatic turn of events when some of its students stood up and initiated the culture of competitive robotics and projects.
EEE, DU always fosters a bright bunch of athletes, who train hard and help keep the name of the department shining. Winning the Championship trophy for five consecutive seasons in interdepartmental basketball competition is such an example.
The Department of Electronic and Electrical Engineering always provides its members with, in addition to regular academic activities, enormous opportunities to get themselves involved in different cocurricular activities throughout the year. Involvement and participation in different club activities is such an opportunity.
The department’s own club, Electrical and Electronics Club (EEC), is the trademark student-run organization under the Department of Electrical and Electronic Engineering, University of Dhaka. The club aims to provide a platform for the students who aim to stretch their academic knowledge beyond the classroom and apply it pragmatically to real world situations through interactions and brainstorming; “a complementary nourishment of the modern era”.
Since its establishment in 2004, the club has been regularly organizing programming contests, circuit contests, workshops and seminars assisting the students to graduate as competent engineers and researchers and apply their knowledge practically.
There are also several groups, e.g., EEE Sports Group, EEE Cultural Group, etc, who are organizing different sports and cultural events throughout the year.
Also, the University of Dhaka has a number of clubs and societies, e.g, DU Research Society, DU Science Society, DU Photographic Society, Badhan, and so on, where the students of this department participate regularly.
The Department of Electrical and Electronic Engineering provides a number of scholarship opportunities to the students of the department based on their academic performances and financial status.
Also, numerous merit-based financial support programs are available in the field of Engineering, both within and outside the University of Dhaka. EEE students frequently apply for and are often awarded with these scholarships and fellowships to offset educational costs associated with tuition and living.
